WHAT TO PREPARE
We want to see your personality and sense of play
shine.
Please prepare a monologue or sonnet from Shakespeare. Memorize it. Play with it. Turn the character choices up to 11. We’d love to ask you to rein it in and not the other way around. Also, please don’t feel bound by “type” or gender or whatever. This is the time to play!
Want to play Macbeth like a surfer dude? Want to play Olivia like a bored Dairy Queen waitress in Texas? Want to play Henry the V as if he’s deeply insecure and trying to convince himself to go into battle?
By all means!
If you want to be considered for a part that includes singing/music, please be prepared to showcase those skills in whatever way you feel best. A cappella singing is great. Drumming on the floor is fine. Or feel free to bring a guitar, etc!
Not sure where to look for a monologue?
This website does a good job at summarizing context and content of monologues!
Please be ready to supply a list of schedule conflicts for the dates listed above.
Resumes, headshots not necessary, but welcome. We’ll have a form that asks about specific skills and experiences.
